Indian River County discontinued its participation in the COPO effective August 24, 2006
Interlocal
agreement entered into by Indian River County, City of Vero
Beach, City of Sebastian, City of Fellsmere, the Town of Orchid
and the IRC School Board on December 7, 1993 establishing
the Council of Public Officials (modeled after F.S.S. 163.02); Resolution No. 93-213 dated December 7, 1993 authorized the Chairman to execute
an interlocal agreement establishing a Council of Public Officials
on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners; Indian River
Shore's Resolution No. 514 dated December 16, 1993 added the Town of Indian River Shores; Resolution No. 94-96 dated July 26, 1994 added the Indian River County Mosquito
Control District; and the Second Amendment to the interlocal
agreement approved May 6 1997 expanded the membership to include
the Hospital District.
On February
1, 2005 the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners
approved to make the meeting location, minutes, notices, and
recordkeeping the responsibility of the COPO Chairman for
the year in which they are Chairman.

(1) County Commissioner, (1) City of Vero Beach, (1) City
of Sebastian, (1) City of Fellsmere, (1) Town of Indian River
Shores, (1) Town of Orchid, (1) School Board, (1) Mosquito
Control District, (1) Hospital District.
The Committee
shall elect from among its voting members a chairman and a
vice chairman annually at its first meeting in January, or
at its next meeting if no meeting is held in January. Each
chair and vice chair shall serve for a one-year term and may
be reelected but shall be limited to two successive annual
terms, at which point they would be ineligible to chair the
committee for at least one year.
Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at
10:00 a.m., except June, July, August and December at the
City of Vero Beach Council Chamber, 1053 20th Place, Vero
