Resolution
2003-130  approved October 21, 2003 reestablished and restructured the
Land Acquisition Advisory Committee (LAAC). Ordinance
2003-010 approved March 11, 2003 provides that Commissioners serve
as a non-voting liaison. Resolution
2005-086 approved May 24, 2005 adding a Historical representative.
The Committee
shall elect from among its voting members a chairman and a
vice chairman annually at its first meeting in January, or
at its next meeting if no meeting is held in January. Each
chair and vice chair shall serve for a one-year term and may
be reelected but shall be limited to two successive annual
terms, at which point they would be ineligible to chair the
committee for at least one year.
Membership
of the LAAC shall be composed of eighteen (18) members who
are residents of Indian River County and shall consist of
the following persons:
One (1)
representative of the City of Vero Beach City Council
One (1)
representative of the City of Sebastian City Council
One (1)
representative of the City of Fellsmere City Council
One (1)
representative of the Indian River Shores Town Council
One (1)
representative of the Town of Orchid Town Council
One (1)
member of the Indian River Land Trust
One (1)
member of the Sierra Club
One (1)
member of the Pelican Island Audubon Society
One (1)
member of the Vero Beach/Indian River County Board of Realtors
One (1)
member of the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce or Council
of One Hundred
One (1)
member of a Taxpayers' Association
One (1)
member of a local civic association
One (1)
member of the agricultural community
One (1)
member of the development community
One (1)
member from the Indian River County Mosquito Control Board
Two (2) members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners
from the community at-large
A member of the Indian River Historical Society, the Indian
River County Historic Resource Advisory Committee or other
local historical organization
Members
serve a 2-year term.
Meetings
are held on the last Wednesday of every month at 1:30 p.m.,
at the County Administration
Building B, 1800 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL in
Conference Room B1-501. |
