Resolution
2003-132 approved October 21, 2003 reestablished and restructured the
Parks and Recreation Committee. Ordinance
2003-010 approved March 11, 2003 provides that Commissioners serve
as a non-voting liaison.
The Committee
shall elect from among its voting members a chairman and a
vice chairman annually at its first meeting in January, or
at its next meeting if no meeting is held in January. Each
chair and vice chair shall serve for a one-year term and may
be reelected but shall be limited to two successive annual
terms, at which point they would be ineligible to chair the
committee for at least one year.
The Parks
and Recreation Committee shall be composed of (9) nine voting
members who are residents of Indian River County and shall
consist of the following persons:
One (1)
representative of the City of Vero Beach
One (1)
representative of the City of Sebastian
One (1)
representative of the City of Fellsmere
One (1)
representative of the Town of Indian River Shores
One (1)
representative appointed by the Board of County Commissioners
One (1)
representative from the Indian River County School Board
One (1)
representative from the Gifford community (appointed by the
BCC)
One (1)
representative from the unincorporated area north of State
Road 60 (appointed
by the BCC)
One (1)
representative from the unincorporated area south of State
Road 60 (appointed
by the BCC)
Members
serve a two-year term.
Meetings
are held on the first Thursday of the month at 10:00 a.m.
at the County Administration
Building B, 1800 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL in
Conference Room B1-501. |
