Statement of Function
The main function of the Human Resources Department is to formulate and administer personnel policies that create a fair, safe and lawful working environment conducive to productivity. This encompasses organizational planning, development and implementation of all policies relating to equal employment opportunities, wage and salary administration, implementing disciplinary and grievance procedures, and oversight of employee benefit plans and programs. The Department has a key role in negotiating labor agreements and maintaining cordial labor relations with the certified bargaining units.

2018/2019 Goals and Objectives

  • Evaluate time and attendance system for improved efficiencies and make recommendation for implementation of comprehensive system
  • Evaluate voluntary employee benefit offerings for alignment with core benefits and value of benefit offered
  • Evaluate disease management programs and integrate with overall wellness strategy
  • Negotiate successor agreements with Teamsters and IAFF unions
  • Conduct monthly employee training opportunities
  • Conduct financial wellness training to include retirement plan and 457 plan education

2019 Employee Health Fair

Indian River County Board of County Commissioners will be hosting its 2019 Employee Health Fair scheduled for Friday, June 21, 2019. The theme this year is "GOALS TO GOOD HEALTH'' . Please wear your favorite jersey on the day of the event and come join us for some healthy fun and see how Building A will be transformed!
