The Indian River County Survey Section provides public land surveying and mapping services to facilitate planning, land acquisitions, design and construction of engineering and capital improvement projects. Services are supplied to various County programs and departments.
Surveying efforts include involvement in a wide range of applications for public lands such as; boundary surveys, topographical surveys, right-of-way surveys, land acquisitions, as-built surveys, conservation lands, environmental/wetlands, construction stake-out, storm water and sketches and descriptions for recording purposes.
Consulting and expert testimony are provided to the State Attorney's Office and the County Attorney's Office.
Responsibilities also include plat reviews, deed analysis, legal description preparation, as well as the implementation and management of the Indian River County Horizontal Control Network (GPS), vertical control and surveying sub-consultant projects.
The Survey section provides information to the general public in the form of Benchmark Data, Certified Corner Reports (CCR) for Section Corners, Government Field Notes, Township Plats, Erosion Control Line Maps, Coastal Control Line Maps and GPS Control Network Data.
In addition to performing surveying tasks, Survey is responsible for establishing and maintaining the repository for survey archives for Indian River County.
