This project will be located at the entrance to the North County Regional Park on CR 512 in Sebastian; this is the site of one of the oldest railroads in East Central Florida. The preservation of this area as a "Trailhead" will include reconstructing the old crossing, using the old railroad grade to the east as part of a "rails-to-trails" pedestrian access system, reconstructing and replacing the Depot, landscaping and educational improvements.
The County is currently accepting bids for this project. Bid opening is scheduled for August 20, 2003.
