Reforestation Programs
Vegetation filters pollutants, reduces flood hazards, provides shade and aesthetic benefits, improves appearance and pedestrian comfort and prevents soil erosion. Indian River County Stormwater Division acknowledges and encourages Arbor Day activities and other restoration efforts held in Indian River County and neighboring counties.

Stream Cleanup and Monitoring
Cleaning our water bodies is an effective way to improve habitat, water quality, and aesthetics. Indian River County Stormwater Division encourages and supports programs promoting trash and debris removal and monitoring of our waterways.

Volunteer Monitoring
Volunteer monitoring programs encourage citizens to learn more about their water resources. They build awareness of pollution problems, help clean up problem sites, provide data for waters that might otherwise be unassessed, and increase the amount of water quality information available to decision makers at all levels of government. Indian River County Stormwater Division acknowledges and encourages volunteers working to improve the quality of our waterways.

Watershed Organization
The purpose of a watershed organization is to restore, protect, and promote the natural resources of the watershed. Indian River County Stormwater Division acknowledges and encourages those organizations working to improve the quality of our watershed.

Wetland Plantings
Wetlands improve water quality by filtering and accumulating pollutants. They also provide food, protection from predators, and other habitat factors for many of the nation’s fish and wildlife species. Indian River County Stormwater Division acknowledges and encourages those organizations, agencies, and associations planting wetland species along waterways.

Water Conservation Practices for Homeowners
Water is a precious natural resource that benefits all living things. By making sensible choices, people can preserve and protect household water. Indian River County Stormwater Division encourages and supports those agencies and organizations educating the public on the topic of water conservation.
