Alternative Products
Indian River County Stormwater Division encourages the use of alternative products. The use of environmentally friendly alternative products improves water quality.
 
Pollution Prevention
The Indian River County Stormwater Division offers County employees the opportunity to attend training on the following topics: Good housekeeping and spill prevention, vehicle and equipment washing, vehicle and equipment maintenance, spill reporting and response, street maintenance, outdoor storage of materials and wastes, and landscaping and lawn care.
 
Parking Lot and Street Cleaning
Indian River County routinely offers street sweeping as a way to keep trash and harmful debris from entering our stormwater management system.
 
Pest Control
Pest control training classes are offered through the University of Florida/IFAS Extension office located in Indian River County.
 
Storm Drain System Cleaning
The Indian River County Road and Bridge Division performs storm drain system cleaning.
 
Used Oil Recycling
The Indian River County Stormwater Division distributes brochures educating the public on the proper way to discard used oil. Report sightings of illegal oil dumping to the Stormwater Division, Code Enforcement, or the Indian River County Health Department.
 
Vehicle Washing
The Indian River County Stormwater Division encourages and supports the use of designated vehicle washing areas. The Stormwater Division recommends washing vehicles over open, vegetated areas allowing wastewater to permeate into the ground or taking your vehicle to a regulated car wash where wastewater drains directly into the sanitary sewer system.
