Starting October 1, 2015, all residents of Indian River County will have a convenient and user‐friendly way to recycle with Single Stream Recycling. Also, Unincorporated County residents who subscribe for garbage collection will receive a 95‐gallon cart, switch to once-a-week garbage collection, and will see a 35% rate reduction.

“All Aboard Florida” Rail Project
FECI introduced a proposal for a high speed rail service known as All Aboard Florida, with passenger service between Miami and Orlando with additional stations in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. The project has been the subject of extensive local government discussion since its announcement.

BCC June 2 to consider adoption of an ordinance, which, if adopted, will increase the maximum building coverage from 40% to 50% to be equal to the allowable FAR (Floor Area Ratio) of 50% for certain facilities within the CH (Heavy Commercial), IL (Light Industrial), and IG (General Industrial) zoning districts.
PZC June 11 to consider rezoning approximately 41.85 acres located east of US1 and North of 82nd St from general commecial to office, commercial, residential.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office will be applying for the Fiscal Year 2015 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Formula Program: Local Solicitation. A Public Hearing will be held at the Board of County Commissioners regular meeting on Tuesday, June 23, 2015.
