Indian River County beaches from Vero Beach to Ambersands received considerable damage from the two back to back storm events causing significant structure damage, dune erosion, and beach loss. Renourishment projects are expected to continue through February 28, 2023. The following closures are scheduled:

Ambersands Beach is located within the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge. It is approximately 6 miles North of County Road 510. Features include an unpaved parking area and boardwalk access to the beach. This is an unguarded beach.
No pets permitted within any County Park – County Ordinance 205.03.22.
Alcohol is not permitted within any County Park – County Ordinance 205.03.26.
No open fires – County Ordinance 205.03.04.
No camping – County Ordinance 205.03.16.
No overnight parking – County Ordinance 205.03.19.
No trespassing when park is closed – County Ordinance 205.03.19.
No equestrian activities – County Ordinance 205.03.3.
No fireworks – County Ordinance 205.03.5.
Normal beach activities are allowed during park hours. These include: fishing, surfing, scuba diving, sunbathing and picnicking.
Please stay off of dunes (vegetated areas west of the open beach) County Ordinance 205.02.25.
Report injured or dead sea turtles immediately to Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission by calling 1-888-404-FWCC (3922).
