Workers Compensation Coverage
Indian River County self-insures its Workers' Compensation insurance program, purchasing only an excess insurance policy. The Workers' Compensation Fund is overseen by the Risk Management Department and the Office of Management & Budget to ensure proper funding of insurance premiums and medical and indemnity payments that are set forth and regulated by the State of Florida. The county utilizes the services of a third-party administrator to administer the workers' compensation claims. When Filing a Workers Compensation Claim, please complete First Report of Injury and forward to the Risk Management Department.
General Liability Insurance Covers payment of claims and defense costs resulting from bodily injury and/or damage to property of others that arise from County premises or operations. When making a claim against the County, please complete the General Liability Incident Report and forward to the risk management department.
Property Insurance Covers physical damage to Indian River County's buildings, facilities and premises in the event of a fire, wind, storm, water damage, vandalism and theft. When reporting damage to County property or equipment, please complete the IRC Property Damage Report and forward to the risk management department.
Automobile Liability Insurance
