ENROLLMENT FEES

• Tuition for one session is $100
• After registering for the class, please contact Heather at (772) 226-1747 to schedule your swim test.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Our program is for youth ages 11- 14 or those having completed the 5th grade.
  
• All participants must schedule a tryout and pass the swim test.
• Swim 100 yards using freestyle or breast stroke
• Tread water for 1 minute
• Float on back for 30 seconds or swim 25 yards of backstroke
• Submerge and swim underwater for 10 feet

PROGRAM CONTENT

The American Red Cross Junior Lifeguard program introduces the skills needed to be a lifeguard. This program is designed to introduce participants to lifeguarding and basic first aid skills. We also stress the importance of teamwork, communication, and responsibility. This is not a certification program.

Classes will be Mondays and Wednesdays at the Aquatic Centers for three weeks from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. The third Monday will meet at The Tracking Station Beach from 9:00AM- 1:00PM.

PROGRAM GOAL

“American Red Cross Junior Lifeguarding is designed to guide youth to the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course by building a foundation of knowledge, attitudes, and skills for future lifeguards.” We will concentrate on the importance of water safety at our pools as well as our beaches.
