American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification Class
The purpose of this class is to provide entry-level participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel can take over. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer valid for 2 years.
- Minimum age of 15 on or before the last day of the course.
- Participants must swim 300 yards continuously using front crawl or breast-stroke but no sidestroke or backstroke is permitted.
- Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs
- Swim 20 yards, surface dive 7-12 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute and 40 seconds.
Registration in a certification class does not guarantee certification. Refunds are not issued due to failure to meet the certification requirements.

Water Safety Instructor Certification
Learn how to teach swimming lessons and water safety to all ages by becoming a Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.
Minimum age: 16
Prerequisite Swim Requirements: Swim 25 yards front crawl, breaststroke, back crawl, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke. Swim 15 yards butterfly. Back float and tread water for 1 minute each.
