North County Water and Sewer (S2S) Project Phase 2

The North County Water and Sewer (S2S) Project Phase 2 deals with the installation of a centralized sewer collection system and water distribution system within the un-incorporated Indian River County.

Project Timeline

• Week of April 11, 2022: Contractor is moving to 83rd Street east side to begin construction on 83rd Av (Bay St) in Section 2.
• Week of April 25, 2022: Contractor is constructing pipe and moving southwest towards the railroad track on 83rd Avenue.
• Week of May 9, 2022: Contractor is installing water and sewer on 133rd Pl and 135th Street in Section 2.
• Week of May 23, 2022: Contractor is installing water main from northeast to southwest on 83rd Ave (Bay St.) in Section 2.
• Week of June 6, 2022: Contractor is installing sewer pipe on 142nd Street in Section 3.
• Week of June 20, 2022: Contractor is installing water pipe in Section 3.
• Week of July 4, 2022: Contractor is continuing to add water and sewer in Section 3.
• Week of July 18: Contractor is continuing to install water main in section 3 and will begin mobilizing the site on Ruffner Lane-Bay Street (section 4).
• Week of July 25: Contractor is mobilizing and installing water and sewer on Ruffner Lane.

• Week of August 22: Contractor is installing watermain on Ruffner Lane in section 4.
• Week of September 5: Contractor is installing pipe on 83rd Avenue east and west of the railroad tracks.

• Week of October 17, 2022: Contractor is coating manholes in project and is continuing to restore roadways
• Week of October 31, 2022: Contractor is testing around the project site.

• Week of December 5, 2022: Sewer is only available in section 1. If choosing to connect before contractor NTP date (Anticipated in January 2023 and residents will be informed) the cost of connecting will be the responsibility of the homeowner Residents must be connected to water to connect to sewer.

• Week of January 17, 2023: As of this week, sewer is only available for homes south of the railroad track (must be connected to water first). Water is available to all homes throughout the project.

    • Sewer Portion: * You must use Meeks Plumbing to connect to sewer and be connected to water by July 7, 2023 at 5:00 PM. NorthCountyPhase2/ProjectMaps.pdf in Project Maps displays a map of homes in water and/or sewer portion of the project.
    • Water Portion: * Any qualified plumber can be used for water connection. Cost to connect to water is the responsibility of the homeowner.
